Indeed, there has come to you a Messenger from among your own selves; it is grievous to him that you suffer; he is full of concern for you; to the believers, kind and merciful." [Qur'an, 9:128]

"Indeed, you (O Prophet) stand on an exalted standard of character." [Qur'an, 68:4]

"Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him?" [Qur'an, 23:69]

 

Sayyidina `Ali (may Allah be well pleased with him) said that those who saw the Prophet (may Allah bless him and his Household and grant them peace) would be awed by him, and those who mingled with him came to love him.

 

The famous muhaddith, Muhammad ibn `Isa al-Tirmidhi (may Allah's blessings be upon him), compiled a beautiful book, al-Shama'il al-Muhammadiyyah, about the physical and character traits of our beloved Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) - the Prophet born "in the full light of history" as a Western writer described it. Through studying the book, one can become closely acquainted with the life and character of the Prophet close-up. This class is being organized with a view to getting to know our Prophet better, and increasing in love and emulation of him.
