It is not a rare event that I get struck by some stories that are told this is twin tale that is not often told of the mercy of Allah. The Imam on one of those friday sermons mentioned these. He had been telling us about the Story of Moses some weeks back. But here in these examples he was talking about the infinte mercy of Allah and His patience with His creation. I enjoyed them so much that I put them in my own 'broken' English, it is my attempt at being cute in print. It is my hope that you are inspired by them to turn a new page in life... "...if you come to my walking I will come running to you, if you run to me I will come speeding to you...

1 out of 40,000 for 40 years…

Long time ago in a land far away from here. It is told that a dry season like none before had come upon the children of Israel during the time of Musa (AS). He asked 40,000 people to come with him and to pray to Allah for Rain. At first there was a light cloud in the sky. When they started to pray that cloud disappeared. Allah Revealed to him that there is one among you who has been disobeying Me for forty years. Tell him to leave your ranks and I will answer your prayers. Musa (AS) said: O’ my Lord there are forty thousand among us and he is only one. Allah Insisted that the sinner must leave. Musa (AS) asked how should I know who he is among 40,000. Just call out among the people and leave the rest to Me, came back the reply. Musa (AS) did as he was told. The sinner looked all around him and did not find any man reacting and knew it was he the one. How should I go out of the crowd I am ruined forever, thought the man. He placed a cover on top of his head and prayed to Allah: If you shield me this day I will never sin against you again, was his prayer of repentance. Immediately, it stated raining like it has never rained before. Musa (AS) prayed to Allah and said: have looked carefully and none among us has left, who was it O’ Lord: For forty years I have shielded him from shame while he disobeyed Me and now that he asks for My forgiveness in repent and you want to shame him I will not do so

I Opened a door and he opened four

Musa (AS) passed by a poor man praying to Allah to provide him Musa (AS) prayed to Allah to provide for him. Allah Revealed that I will provide him for only one year. When Allah provided that man he built a house at the crossroads and had built four doors in it. He went into the market and proclaimed that if anyone had any need of money, sustenance he should come to his house. He would welcome all from any of the four doors and would give them generously. Three years later, Musa (AS) passed by the man and he prayed to Allah regarding that man and said: Allah you said that you would provide him for one year he is still being provided for. "Allah Answered that I opened it for one year and he opened four doors I will not be outdone by any of my worshippers." That man continued to be blessed for many more years… The Messenger has indeed spoken the truth when he said: "Charity will not diminished one’s Wealth." In the Qur’an we read that: "Satan promises you poverty and Allah promises you forgiveness." The money that you keep with you forever is the money that we spend…
